O thats Reese...yea! A statement I never get tried of hearing. Welcome to the introduction of (Reesetak) me. Normally someone else would be telling my story but who better to tell you about someone then the actual person. So, I could go about this cut, plain, and simple, but that wouldn't describe me at all. (That Aint Reese). Born in raised in the big small city of Greenville, SC. When I was coming up I really didn't have much to look up to, no real overall direction. I always excelled in school, even though my grades didn't really reflect it, but with the amount of effort I put into it you can say I breezed threw it. I just knew that I should finish school, then go back to school finish again, and to eventually work until my death.(like really)But in my heart I always felt like there was and should be something more. By junior high I was rapping during lunch while my homie laid the beat down on the trash can. Even though my skills weren't the best I was far above average. In high school I graduated (to writing songs). haha. I graduated high school too, but thats a whole different story.
I started recording songs seriously in about the 11th grade. (In by seriously I mean in a friends tool shed on Acid Pro.) Not the best quality of music but I was satisfied. I remember the first thing I did after recording my first song(Bounce Roc) I went to play it in my homies whip, (since he had the system)when those speakers hit I knew what I was going to spend the rest of my life doing music. So I started my quest to make what seemed impossible possible. My first opportunity laid right around the corner at a small spot by the named of Alligator's Bar and Grill. They were holding an open-mic night and I thought this could be the perfect time to showcase my talents. So I did, little did I know that the chance of me winning solely depended on crowd participation which I had none so I lost. It really wasn't a big crowd but I can just think back of seeing the few reactions of people hearing what I was saying and liking it, it just confirmed my feelings.
And then I met some very important contacts, which were Claude “Cdub” Booker and "Bigg Serg" with Beatbangaz recordings. From then I started recording at a professional studio and I never looked back. Now I have several projects in the mix. I have my website up and running; othatsreese.com. Im working on a mixtape as well as an album thats soon to be released. I have several songs on itunes and about 10 other different music sites as well. My next goal is radio, radio, radio. Also a lot of shows and appearances. So to say the least be on the look out for Reesetak(othatsme).
